"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me." John 14:6 (KJV)
Have you ever paused to consider all that Jesus is saying here? He’s not blocking you out, He is confirming for you, child of God, that He is the way. He is saying, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-40 (NIV).
…And this matters. It matters a lot. There are so many things vying for our attention and ways of living that are NOT what God has promised us in Christ. Take for example a “spiritual” person who does not have Christ. This person will say things that “sound” good, but are not TRUE… for example: “Taking the high road in life, whether physical or spiritual is hard.”
The truth is, the battle is already won and Jesus said, His yoke is easy and His burden is light. When we accept what Jesus has done for us on the cross, we have to be paying attention to Him. There is a lot of deception out there. Remember what God has said and done for you. Jesus is the only way. Praise God!
