Laying it Down

Hello again. Today I am coming to you from a place where I am waiting and trusting in God to do what He said He is going to do.

What are some characteristics of God that you know and want to commit yourself to meditating on today? I am going to acknowledge Him as my Healer and my Provider.

Exodus 15:26 says “…For I am the LORD who heals you.” Isaiah 53:5 says, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.”

Matthew 8:17 says, “so that He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: He Himself took our infirmities [upon Himself] and carried away our diseases.”

1 Peter 2:24 says, “He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross [willingly offering Himself on it, as on an altar of sacrifice], so that we might die to sin [becoming immune from the penalty and power of sin] and live for righteousness; for by His wounds you

[who believe] have been healed.

You know He became sin who knew no sin, so God could punish in Him all the wrongdoing and call us free… Liberated…as long as we agree with Him that He died on that cross for us…For you, personally, and for me, personally.

Do you ever try to take things into your own hands? Might I say that that is a horrible thing to do to yourself. We do not know the first thing about taking care of our needs. God’s love flows down to us and in us…. And when He says He is our Provider, He means it…and He wants you to know it. How can you know it, you might ask…? Think of Him and you will see. Put your whole focus and attention on who He says He is. God doesn’t and cannot lie.

There are so many scriptures that tell us how God provides for us. I will only reference a couple here.

Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7 says … and I really want you to ‘hear’ this…”Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” This is what God says He is going to do! Isn’t that a comfort to you? This is how we live… By the Word of His mouth. That’s what it means that He is our provider.

Oh God, how amazing you are! You are perfect in every way and so loving and kind. May each one here tonight reading this receive your truth and understand your power in a real way. How amazing you are! Forgive us when we aren’t trusting in you. When I contemplate who you are, and read your Word, it brings to light all that you are and how perfect you are.

Lead us, Lord, to a deeper commitment and fellowship with you. Help us, refine us, make us like you, Lord.
