How many times have you talked to someone and spoke to them about something that happened to you in the past? I want to encourage you today. We cannot change the past... We cannot fix anything or go back to anything in the past. All that does when we go there is get us stuck. Why? Because the past is gone and we don't live there anymore.
This is pivotal! As I was texting with someone today who I hadn't spoken to in a long while, she asked how we were and as I started to tell her, I felt this overwhelming urge to tell her what was happening NOW. And when I did, I felt this is reality. Yesterday, I was talking with a new friend, who didn't know my life and when I started talking to her, I found myself rehersing past things that had happened to me. What a contrast! I realized today that looking back get's me stuck.
Paul says in Philippians 3:13-14, "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
So, if you want to move forward in your life, I encourage you to start talking about the present and what is happening in your life NOW. Forget the past, it is gone and you are in a new place. Praise God!
