Riding in on a Donkey

What is the significance of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey? The first thing to see is that it was on a donkey's foal, not the full grown donkey, but on its colt (Matt 21:5). That in itself should say something. Let's look at Philippians 2:5-8 for some insight into this... it says, "let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled himself and became obedient, even to death on a cross".
God was made in the likeness of men. Have you thought about that? What does that mean to you?
So, He humbled Himself and became obedient. What did He become obedient to? ...The Father's will. Do you find yourself obedient and trusting the Lord with your life? Do you want to be obedient to the Father's will? Let this encourage you to trust Him.
Do you remember what God said He was going to do? He said He was going to lift Himself up! John 2:19. If you can't trust a God like that, then who can you trust?
He was humble and obedient to the point of death. The bible says he did nothing of His own accord but only what He sees the Father doing. John 5:19.
Do you trust Jesus as your Savior? He has every right to your life because He came to sacrifice His life for you...and paid the penalty for your sin. He will take care of you and give you everything you need. I pray you will know Him and trust Him the way He desires you to.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matt 11:29.
