The Birth of Christ

So, I have been reminded a couple of times in the past couple of days of the birth of Christ. Many people celebrate this day. Not only is this event a reality in history, but it is a promise, He is the promise... the Promised One. Praise God!!

The Jews had been waiting for their promised Messiah... and God sent us His only Son (John 3:16) - Christ was revealed to sinful humanity, for a precious salvation only He could give! Do you remember Micah 5:2? It says this, “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans[a] of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” Jesus Christ wasn't just born into this world, He is the fulfillment of prophecy. Isaiah 9:6 says, "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

During Jesus's life on earth, He said to His disciples, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” Luke 24:44.

Do you see this? Do you see that He is who He said He is? We serve a triune God. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit used men to write what we read today in Scripture, Jesus Christ fulfilled the Scripture and all three are in unity and are glorified.

So, let this be a reminder to you when you think upon the birth of our Savior and Lord. Don't let it be just "Jesus's birthday." Remember that He is the the Chosen One, the fulfillment of prophecy and the second person of the trinity... the Promised One.
