True wisdom is a gift from God. It is the way we look at life and how we respond to it. It is the guidance God gives us to know what is the right thing to do.
How do you know what to do in your life? Do you ask a friend? Do you trust a parent or loved one? Do you rely on yourself?
Godly people in our life can surely give us Godly wisdom (as they are seeking God as well), but God wants us to ask Him directly, because He is the giver of it and He promises to give it to us generously! James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
Who wouldn’t want Godly wisdom - wisdom directly from Him (the TRUTH)? Well, Proverbs 1:7 tells us that “fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Don’t be this person. There is a lot of knowledge out in the world and much meaningless talk about a lot of things. Get in the habit of rejoicing and talking about God. Who He is, what He has done in your life. Let your life bring Him glory. He will bring you to new places in Christ and will dwell with you richly as you seek Him.
Proverbs 8:11-12 tells us that wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her. What are some of the things you desire? Have you thought about it? The bible says, ALL that you desire cannot compare with her (wisdom that is). Doesn’t this make you want to know more? To have it!?
It also says, “I wisdom, dwell with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion.” This is an invitation to come to God. He will give you this wisdom!
Proverbs 3:13 says, “Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding.” This is an eternal gift from God.
My prayer for you is Ephesians 1:17 – “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.”
There is no greater time than now that we need to have wisdom from God, true wisdom that is. We need it to know how to walk in this world. There is so much unrest in our country and the world we are living in.
Will you turn to God and ask Him for His wisdom?
